Trevor James is a multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter from the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania. Trevor's love for music arose from his time playing in high school bands with friends (initially with the sole intent of trying to impress the ladies), though he soon found himself feeling a genuine passion for writing, recording, and performing music. Upon graduating, Trevor put music on the backburner to focus on college studies. However, in 2019, Trevor rediscovered his love for music after trying his hand at solo acoustic style music. Starting initially with cover videos, the success of Trevor's talents saw him quickly amass an impressive social media following, which inspired him to have a go at writing his own material. Trevor’s first EP “Breakthrough” was recorded entirely in his makeshift bedroom studio and was released in late-2020. One track from that EP (“Rendezvous”) then went on to feature on local radio station 97.9x Rocks, as well as popular Philly station Alt 104.5, where Trevor was also interviewed and performed live in Spring of 2021. Trevor released his much anticipated single "Again" in June 2022, followed by "Comfort" in August - both of which he got the opportunity to perform on the Wish USA Bus in Hollywood, CA that same month. Look out for more to come from Trevor later this year! So great to have you for our interview today Trevor. Tell us about your latest single and the impact it's had on your fans so far? Thanks for having me! My latest single "Comfort", which I released in mid-August, has been received extremely well by fans. I've just been so surprised and grateful for the overwhelming support and feedback I've gotten from the song, especially since it dove a bit outside my normal "comfort" zone (lol) as far as musical style. Do you get more attached to songs over others? I definitely get more attached to some songs over others, and this is certainly true for songs by other bands/artists as well as my own originals. As far as tracks by other artists, I definitely have my go-to songs I like to listen to depending on how I feel or what's going on in my life at that time. And as far as my own originals, I'd be lying if I said there aren't songs I've written that I've felt are better or more catchy than other songs I've written. What makes your single and the time you spent on the music memorable for you? This is a great question. I think that what makes a single memorable for me depends on a couple factors; if I'm especially happy with the end result, or if the process to create the single was especially memorable in some way, good or bad. For example if I struggled to record a good vocal take for a particular single and it took me wayyy longer than it should have, then that single is definitely going to be memorable for me. Any tried or true techniques you have when creating the music? Definitely! My creative process is pretty consistent from song to song: I typically start by using a phone voice recorder app to record a set of chords and strumming pattern on my acoustic guitar, and then play it back on repeat to figure out the kind of vocal melody I'd like to use for the verse, chorus, etc. The lyrics are usually the final part of my writing process, tweaking and re-tweaking the actual words and theme of a song. Next I'll record the foundational elements of the music for the song, followed by the vocals, and then typically work with my producer to figure out what else the song needs before polishing it up into a finished product ready for the world to hear. What are you most looking forward to in 2023 with your new music? Without a doubt the thing I'm most looking forward to in 2023 with my new music is getting the opportunity to share it with the world through live performances. I plan to lean heavily into playing for live audiences in 2023, whether that's streaming, playing a gig at a bar or cafe, showcasing at a music festival, or even just open mics, I'm just really excited to share my upcoming music with people. Anything in 2022 that you experienced that you're either leaving behind or bringing with you into 2023? This is another great question. 2022 was a big year for me as far as goals; releasing a couple new singles with professional quality music videos, traveling to Hollywood to perform one of those singles on the Wish USA radio bus, partnering together with a management group to help take my music endeavors to the next level, etc. So I definitely plan to bring that same grind and momentum with me into 2023 but set my goals and my sights even higher. Where can our readers go to learn more about your future projects?! The best ways to keep up with my future projects and songs are to follow my Instagram (, my YouTube channel (, and my Spotify ( You're rad. Leave us with a word or phrase that will describe what your fans can expect from you NEXT! Thanks! It's not anything mindblowingly original but the phrase I'll leave everyone with as far as what fans can expect from me next is - "Stay tuned"
