Makes My Blood Dance gives us a snippet of themselves musically and more!

How are you feeling about your work lyrically? It's honest, I enjoy story telling. Most of what we talk about is from the heart, spiritual lessons and how we deal with conflict within. Do you feel a push or a pull when it comes to writing right now? I always work with a sense of urgency but I've come to realize it's not about getting anywhere, it's just a passion for what I do. I spent the entire day yesterday recording vocals to a new song and really had no concern for time, I didn't get bored and I did not want to be anywhere else. That's hard to say regarding most days in the grind. That's a passion and a signal to who you are. I hope that others can find that in themselves and make time to do that thing, it brings a fuller experience to the rest of your life. Are all your writing sessions collaborative or do you go off on your own as well. Do you have a preference?

Our sessions are a game of ping pong. We "ping pong" the song back and forth until we are satisfied to catalog it and eventually hand it over to the mixer and get into some post production. In a way it's singular because we do not do a significant amount of writing in the same space. However, we have done that from time to time with good results. Sticks and Stoned (a track from Rag Na Rock - forthcoming album) was written in part like that. Do you ever compare the work you bring to the table? How does that benefit or distract from your common goal of making great music? John and I are the principal songwriters, never compare or compete and others will respect you. We have a fluid mutual respect for eachother, there is no comparing, there is only creating. What are your favorite lyrics from your new music? Here are some cool snippets from various songs off of Rag Na Rock. From Together Apart "Together apart like lightning and thunder." "You're a hurricane and I'm a teardrop with no end" From Soldiers of Men "The power of a kiss makes soldiers of men" "Life is a battle and love is the knife" From Heaven Collides "I never know if I’m good enough Lay your shadows next to mine One more night with my dreams as my light and my guide That’s where Heaven Collides" Is there anything off the table when it comes to bringing yourselves into your music?

Drugs and alcohol. Leave us on a high note! And share some good news! I feel like we're on an upswing again creatively, still writing for the next record while also releasing Rag Na Rock. That's really the most exciting thing, it's like an extended honeymoon. As long as everyone is still enthusiastic then the show goes on. I do miss the live shows and hope we will do more of that this summer, however, either way you will see more videos, performances, creative photos shoots, music and merch from Makes My Blood Dance.
