Americana, Country-Blues combination Suzanne's Band is the official vehicle driven by Texas based singer/songwriter Mia Suzanne Walker. Suzanne’s career highlights include her recent acceptance into the Recording Academy (Grammy’s) and her rapid development as an established You Tube artist. Suzanne’s live shows are a blend of music covering the last seven decades, and are usually a mix of classic rock, pop and country. Booking is available as a solo, duo, trio or full band act. Suzanne’s original songs are also woven into the set list. What are your favorite lyrics from your latest single?

It’s not an ordinary day. Share the holiday spirit always.

What kind of pull did you feel about making the single?

I love Christmas and wanted to do a coffee shop vibe type holiday song.

This one spoke to me of the importance of keeping all the reasons for celebrating the season intact.

Are all your writing sessions collaborative or do you go off on your own? Do you have a preference?

I’m definitely a loner but also enjoy collabs with other musicians that can help with ideas on the composing area which I’m weaker at.

Do you ever compare the work you bring to the table?

Never.

What is standard practice when it comes to if the song is really finished?

I have an outside source I send songs to that gives me feedback on the connectivity of the words and structure with the music. Once I’ve made those corrections, the song is put in queue to go to the studio for production.

What was the goal for making the latest track?

To have an acoustic coffee shop vibe type holiday song.

Challenges to the new music that no one would know about?

At first it was more of a love song but it didn’t blend with the other verse already written. I had to rewrite the first verse and make it more observable of what was being seen and felt from a general perspective.

Favorite memory in the making of this music?

Always the studio! The best part of any of my songs is when they are played by the musicians for the first time and you hear it as a whole.

Is there anything off the table when it comes to bringing yourselves into your music?

Sometimes it involves ignoring the phone, the door, eating, etc. to stay focused on finishing a song so I don’t lose the magic of the moment.
