New Music with Tarah Who?!
Hello Tarah Who?! Thank you for speaking with me today! CH : Thank you very much for having us !! TGC: Thanks for having us! Your new album 'Supposedly a Man' is out now! How has it been having it out in the world? CH : I'm always a little bit nervous when a new song or especially an album came out because it's a part of us that we are sharing with the world. TGC: Yes, it is a little bit nerve-wracking! As excited as I am to finally be able able to share it with the world, when you are independent you are not only an artist, you wear all the hats. It is all about numbers in the end and how much you have reached out. If you release an album but you don't do the work before or after, you just release music out in the world, but the objective obviously is to be heard. We have been really lucky so far, we have had great feedback from the press and we have new fans that really enjoy the new album. You just never know if that is going to be enough to stand out. How has the feedback/reception been?
TGC: Very positive! Like Coralie mentioned, we were nervous because first of all we recorded during covid so the whole process was different. We worked via zoom and recorded during one weekend with our producer Jason Orme. Coralie was only able to be there during her drum parts and then had to leave because of covid regulations. Jason did an amazing job recording and mixing, and we are super happy with how it all came out. We have received a lot of very positive feedback and reviews of the album which is very motivating. I have been writing new songs and getting ready for a new EP for 2022.
What has been the most surreal part of the whole experience so far? CH : Well with Covid happening, we had to rearrange our routine. We couldn't rehearse or prepare for the studio together, so we practiced on our own by sending each other a lot of videos and zoom meetings hahaha. We actually played the songs for the first time together at the studio which was pretty crazy but really cool !!! TGC: Yeah I usually like to really prepare before going into the studio because, well... time is money. This time, we had to trust that we were rehearsing the songs on our own and we did play them for the first time together when we recorded them! It all went well but I was really anxious, as after recording the drums, I had to prepare to record bass, guitars, vocals, backing vocals etc..all in 2 days without wasting any time! If you had to describe the album in three words, what would they be? CH : In Your Face hahahaha !! TGC: lol!! coco! I would say Rock, Mature, Vulnerable. What are you hoping listeners take away from the new music? TGC: Some type of strengths and inspiration. From, creating signature music that you believe in and that is different, to the lyrics themselves that hopefully inspire you in your own life. You don't have to have gone through what I have to relate, I don't think. What can fans expect to see from you in the upcoming months? CH : We are actually working on our next EP and we might have a new song coming out soon. TGC: Yes, 2022 will be new music and new music videos we are gearing up for. We have a surprise song coming out at the end of the year, right before Christmas and we are really excited to share this one as well!
Please let everyone know where to keep up with you and your music! TGC: I think you can just put @ tarahwho for every social media outlet, we are probably on it. However, Instagram is where we are the most active.
Thank you for your time! Thank you!
