New Music with Modern Amusement!

You recently released a new song! Will you tell us about it?
Yes, Modern Amusement recently released our song "I Have A Crush On Lisa Loeb." The song is obviously sort of a tribute to the singer/songwriter Lisa Loeb who I admire. It's about the unique connection you can have with a musician or other type of idol that you may have never even met. We have been enjoying seeing the responses from people on this song as more and more people hear it, including Lisa Loeb herself, which I never expected in a million years!
How would you describe the project to someone at a dinner party that’s never heard of you?
Hmmm, I suppose I'd say Modern Amusement is.... Nerd Rock For Emo Kids? That sounds about right!
What is your dream project?
I think my dream project would be collaborating with all my musical heroes on one big project. People like Rivers Cuomo, Brendon Urie, Patrick Stump have very heavily influenced me on all my music, I think it would be really cool to see what we could create together.
What are you most proud of to date?
At the time it's our self-titled debut album. The songs on that album were written throughout the past decade of my life, starting from high school to where I am now at 25. For example, the song "War In Peace" I wrote back in my senior year of high school and the song "Who Hurt You And Why Didn't It Stick" just a month or two before recording the album. So in a way the album feels like a culmination of what I have accomplished and been through in my life so far, which I think is really cool and special.
What keeps you making music?
Music is my strongest outlet for expressing myself and telling the world how I feel. I don't want to let go of that outlet because it makes me who I am!
