Hi, Stacy! Thanks for being here!
What is your writing process like?
My writing process consists of me sitting down at my keyboard and coming up with chord progressions and melodies, and singing randomly on top of them until I find something that clicks. When that happens I feel it in me. Like a chill down my spine. I know something works, and then I immediately record myself singing that piece on top of the keys, and then continue singing. Words will come to me as the song plays and I just sing them and when things click I just feel like, "wow, that's really how I feel. That needed to be said." It's like a form of therapy for me because I'm teaching myself things about myself that are at my core that need to come out. Sometimes I write out lyrics and sing them out but that's rarer. My lyrics are more like poetry to me.
What is the most adventurous thing you've done in your life?
I haven't done very many adventurous things in my life. There are lots of little adventures I like to go on, like hiking with my husband or driving long distances to different cities or towns. But the most adventurous thing I've ever done might have been going to New Zealand and going on a whale-watching cruise.
If you could switch lives with one person for a day who would it be?
If I could switch lives with one person for a day it would be BANKS. That woman inspires me and is such a freak in the best way. I would love to get inside her head and live in her life for a day. Sing with her voice, write with skill, and perform as only she can. Plus she's so damn beautiful, I can't get enough of her.
What is one city you've always dreamed of traveling to?
The one city I've always dreamed of traveling to is Los Angeles. I've actually always wanted to live there. I don't think I'd get tired of the sunshine. Plus for having my dreams come true musically, it would only make sense to be in L.A.
When you were younger, what did you want to be when you "grew up"?
When I was younger I wanted to be a singer when I grew up. It's always been in me. Though I will say, when I was younger I wanted to be part of a singing group, so I wasn't the only one and there was less anxiety. Now that I'm older, there's still anxiety, but I feel like I could take it on, on my own, and I don't know how I could write with other people in a group.
If you could do a cameo in any TV series, which series would you choose?
If I could do a cameo in a TV series it would be Friends. That show is a classic, who wouldn't want to be on it? I've also secretly always wanted to get on television, and Friends would be ideal for me. I love the cast, both on the show and as real-life people.
What is your favorite dessert?
My favorite dessert is chocolate lava cakes. I've always liked them and used to be really into baking and once learned how to bake them. On the first real date I had with my husband, I tried to teach him how to make chocolate lava cakes. His batches didn't come out the greatest.
What is your favorite account to follow on social media?
My favorite account to follow on social media is probably Hilary Duff's. I've loved her since Lizzie McGuire days and to have watched her grow into the incredible woman that she is today has been great. I find her stories to be refreshing with bits of comedy thrown in. Her life seems fun to live and I just enjoy following her.
