Music and Inspiration with The Ki Ki Experience!

Hello Ki Ki! Thank you for speaking with me today!
Tell us about your latest release/project!
My newest project is a labor of love that I've been developing over a period of time. The first single and music video from the project will be "We The People" for release in 2022. "We The People" was written by Ki Ki Hawkins (BBK Entertainment), produced by Jesse Krakow & Stephen Honoshowsky, and engineered by Shamel Hughes (Hughes Media Group)
What was the creative process for it?
Jesse sent the track, which was to be a part of his "Pumpkin Bones" project, featuring several other singer/songwriters from the NYC area. At this time, the pandemic started, and we were in lock down. I wrote and recorded the vocals on my IPhone garageband app, and sent it over. I was so frustrated at the state of our world, the injustices to mankind, and now the pandemic, I just needed an outlet. I instantly was inspired to write this:
"We The People, deserve our security,
We The People, treat us like human beings,
You don't get to take away our basic liberties,
Separating us, perpetuating fear,
Trying to control everything we say and do,
Some people are evil,
Bless their souls for they know not what they do."
Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
Nona Hendryx (LaBelle) is my mentor, Chaka Khan, Lenny Kravitz, Anita Baker, and many more.
Who would be a dream collaboration for you?
I unequivocally would collaborate with Lenny Kravitz. I see myself as the female version of him.
Do you have a mantra or piece of advice you carry with you that you like to pass on to other musicians?
I speak my "I AM affirmations'' everyday, and I also chant "Nam Myoho Renge Kyo". I would say to any artist, believe in yourself even when it appears no one is there, be consistent, and disciplined.
Any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for?
The only project for now is The Ki Ki Experience untitled project. I don't know, what do you think of "Unconditional"? I'm thinking that might be the name of the album, but I'm still feeling it out.
