Hello Carbon Love! Thank you for speaking with me today!

No no, thank you!

You are gearing up to release a new song! Will you tell us about it? Yes! This single is called "Confession", and it drops on 11/19. We figure it would be better if people got their confessions off their chest before Thanksgiving dinner.

What was the creative process for it?

We were playing a lot of Radiohead on the guitar at the time, and the initial seed of the song came from that headspace. We sat on the guitar part for a few months, then opened it up one day. During that time, we were listening to a lot of hip hop/R&B, so the drums ended up leaning that direction and transforming the song completely from what I first imagined. As Bob Ross would say, "a happy accident".

Who are some of your biggest musical influences?

Old Maroon 5, old Kanye, Tame Impala, Glass Animals, Madeon, John Mayer, Calvin Harris

Who would be a dream collaboration for you?

I think it would have to be Kanye (or "Ye" now hahaha). He would just bring so much to the table that I'm not a specialist in - my voice is too soft for rap, and I would love to just talk to him for hours about sampling and lyricism.

Do you have a mantra or piece of advice you carry with you that you like to pass on to other musicians?

Sometimes you have to laugh, otherwise you might cry.

Any other upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for?

We have our second album coming out in the next few months! We are adding the finishing touches.
