Papa’s Song (What Is This Feeling?) : By Celiane the Voice What is this feeling? What is this feeling?

Love Pain Light

Rain Passion Reaching Feeling Needing I am the magik Breath that flows thru me This love is tragic But, I don’t want to be free Chorus: I’m searching, I’m feeling magik in my soul I feel the power, and it won’t let me go What is this feeling, I just want to be free

I’m in a trance, what is this power over me? Touch Lies Vision Cries Pleasure Calling Feeling Falling I am the magik Breath that flows through me This love is ours now Love don’t set me free I’m searching, I’m feeling magik in my soul I feel the power and it won’t let me go What is this feeling, I just want to be free I’m in a trance, what is this power over me?

I turn around now This feelings got my soul This dance, my body’s lost it I have no more control I’m breakin’ through, now I can feel it right I can love now, My spirit’s light

I’m searching, I’m feeling magik in my soul I feel the power and it won’t let me go

What is this feeling, I just want to be free I’m in a trance, what is this power in me? What is this magik? It always sets us free I know this feeling , You put, the power in me. © Michele Y Jones Publishing What are your favorite lyrics from your latest single?

My favorite lyrics are, “Love don’t set me free!” That is something I don’t ever want to be without. There was a lot of emotion put into this song for me, and love is always the basis. What kind of pull did you feel about making the single?

Honestly, I felt called to honor my ancestral spirits my way. So it was a single that I thought long and hard about and it had to be worthy. Are all your writing sessions collaborative or do you go off on your own? Do you have a preference?

Most of my writing sessions are done alone, however for Papa’s Song, it was a collaborative effort. I prefer, if I can, to write on my own just because of the feelings that come out of me, but sometimes when you can’t find the words, you need other expressions of genius to help you. Do you ever compare the work you bring to the table?

Yes, we compare for the sake of creating a beautifully melded song of sound and lyrics in harmony together. When I collaborate, I like to work as a unified unit so everything is organic. What is standard practice when it comes to if the song is really finished?

The standard practice is after the final mix, we sit on it for a month and listen to it in intervals to see if there are any feelings of change. If not, then we send it out for mastering. I am the one who has the final say; however, I give my producer a say as well because he can hear things I can’t in what he has created underneath my lyrics. What was the goal for making the latest track?

The goal was to honor the spirits of my ancestors in my style. It was to show love to the past of so many and to hold on to the love as it is the basis of everything. Challenges to the new music that no one would know about?

Just trying to keep inspired amongst the pain of the world. Some of us are truly affected by the sorrows of this world, so at times, at least for me, it is difficult to create from a positive place. I really try to be conscious of what I put out and how it touches people, so I have to create from a space of love. I feel, as an artist, it is our job to help people heal through our music. We are finding the spaces in which to sing and create our masterpieces. Favorite memory in the making of this music?

When I made the original version of this song, I was so excited at what I had put together. I was not proficient in DAWs and producing but I was clearly able to put a skelton song together to get a feel for what I was creating. I just remember smiling so big and then when the lyrics came together for it a year later, I was elated. We knew it could be a hit and I finally finished my labor of love. Is there anything off the table when it comes to bringing yourselves into your music?

I can say that whatever comes from the creative process, however I get to it, goes into the music. We all have nuances that seep in unconsciously but that is why I try to walk in love. Leave us on a high note! And share some good news!
