Catching Up With Bennett!

Hi Bennett! Thank you for speaking with me today!
Hey! It's my pleasure! Thanks so much for having me! What have you been up to lately? Any new projects in the works?
Yeah so I've been working on my EP, "Love Letters", for the last couple months. I originally planned it to be 6-7 tracks with a slew of featured artists on it and then I thought about it. I had 4 solid songs done at the time and I didn't want to rush to get the other few done so I decided to split it up into 2 parts. Whatever songs didn't go on part 1 will be on Part 2. I think it's a cool way to release a collection of music. So part 1 of "Love Letters" is set for release on July 30th! I'm super excited for it. It's going to feature my friends Quick and YRU VEXxD, who are 2 really talented rappers. The entire production was created by myself, minus the recording of the featured vocals. I wrote the music and the lyrics. Then recorded, mixed, and mastered the entire project. I love the general creation of music as well. Overall, it's a collection of Pop/R&B love songs that I think will resonate with the listeners regardless of taste when it comes to music. What is the inspiration for it?
Great question! So a few years back I went on a road trip across America starting in Idaho and making my way back to Connecticut. Whenever we would get settled at our resting spot for the night, I would write these letters to this girl I was admiring back home and would fold them up and put them in a shoe box. When I finally got home I put the shoe box in my closet and must've forgotten about it. I found it a few months ago and looked through the letters. I thought to myself I could do something with these since I never gave them to the intended person. From there is where "Love Letters" grew into a reality. So a girl I very much admire, but I think the general basis of what love is is the more broad inspiration for this project. I'm a hopeless romantic and I love to write about it. When was the first time you recall thinking that you wanted to pursue music as your career?
I had to have been about 21 or 22 years old. I was always singing growing up and it was something I loved to do. I ended up becoming a Justin Bieber impersonator after signing with an entertainment company and having to perform and essentially live as him, I realized making music and making that my career was something I wanted to do. I feel like the Justin Bieber experience gave me a taste of what I had been looking for for so long. I knew that when my contract was up I was going to start my own music career. Who are some of the artists currently inspiring you?
So Ariana Grande is really inspiring me right now. I've been listening to a lot of Thank You, Next album as well as Sweetner. Also Justin Bieber too. Justice just overall is such an amazing album so I've been enjoying that. Little Mix, Drake, and The Weeknd are always inspiring me too. Any plans to start performing live as shows pick back up?
Yes! I absolutely want to get back on stage and put on a show! The stage is my favorite place to be and I miss it immensely. I'm hoping in August I get to start performing again. I do do live stream shows though. I have my next one planned for July 30th at 8pm on Sessions Live! So I'm looking forward to doing that too. What are you hoping to see in the music world as it continues to evolve?
For me I think that I'd love to see what impact music has on people evolve and that some of what we do as artists can be given back to the people grow as well. I make love music to please the heart and warm the soul and from that, I hope that whatever comes from that I'm able to give it back to someone who needs it. So I'd love to see what we can do as artists for the world's advantage evolve. Please let everyone know where they can keep up with you and your work!
