'BECAUSE OF YOU' WITH DANIEL ANDREWS

Because of You

Who'd of thought that you'd be mine

Who'd of thought that you'd be standing by my side

Who'd of thought I'd be the reason why

That you had to say goodbye

Because of you I've lost my mind

Because of you who said it's time

To pack your things and head on down the line

Since we said all our goodbyes

and all our reasons why

I'm standing here askin myself why

I made you say goodbye

It's been awhile since we last talked

It's good to see that it looks like you've moved on

As for me, it's a different road I've walked

I just can't get past my thoughts

Because of you I've lost my mind

Because of you who said it's time

To pack your things and head on down the line

Since we said all our goodbyes

and all our reasons why

I'm standing here askin myself why

I’m standing here asking myself why

What are your favorite lyrics from your latest single?

"Who'd have thought that you'd be mine."

What kind of pull did you feel about making the single?

This was a very odd write. It was a spur of the moment thing that just evolved into what it is. I think we all go through loss at some point or another in our lives. It is something we can all relate to no matter what.

Are all your writing sessions collaborative or do you go off on your own? Do you have a preference?

I do both. I prefer to collaborate as much as possible. There is always something special that happens when more than one person gets together focusing on how to reach someone through music. It's like the old saying, "two heads are better than one."

Do you ever compare the work you bring to the table?

Not anymore. I used to, but then I realized that what I do is unique to me and visa versa. I think that is what makes music special. Everyone has their own unique way to speak to someone. We all relate differently to different things.

What is standard practice when it comes to if the song is really finished?

I always walk away. Sometimes it may be for a few hours, but sometimes it is for a couple months. I want it to be as organic as possible, so when it feels forced, I walk away until I am able to get back into that thought process of what it is I was intending to say in the first place.

What was the goal for making the latest track?

Honestly there was no goal at all. I wrote it kind of by accident, but a lot of folks I work with in the industry strongly suggest I record it so I did.

Challenges to the new music that no one would know about?

I think the challenge is always the same. There are only so many things you can talk about or say, so how do you say the same thing that's been said before, but in a different way. That's the trick in my opinion.

Favorite memory in the making of this music?

I'd say my favorite part was the moment I realized my wife could be a co-writer on it. I was somewhat struggling lyrically when she walked in. I asked her opinion and she just immediately said what needed to go there. We laughed at the time, but it was so cool to see how it all works out when you collaborate with someone. Especially someone that means that to you.

Is there anything off the table when it comes to bringing yourselves into your music?

Oh I'm sure, but I haven't found that yet...hopefully I don't have to experience that anytime soon.

Leave us on a high note! And share some good news!

I have a second single dropping on July 29th. I am super excited about this one especially because of the message. It is such a feel-good song. If you're having a bad day, it is definitely the song to listen to. I am excited for you to hear this one.
